The stubborn stalker, bad manners and first date cooking issue

I broke up with someone about two months ago. But he constantly calls, comes by and is now bothering my friends. What do I do?

Help, Stalker Troubles, Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dear Stalker Troubles,
First, try plan A. Clearly say, "I don’t want anything to do with you!" Second, insist that he stop calling, coming by or bothering your friends. Third, be tough, stern and aggressive, even if it's not your nature. If this fails, then go to plan B. First, go to his work and publicly embarrass him by making a big scene! Second, call his friends and family and tell them to stop him or you’ll see them in court. Also, think restraining order. Lastly, take a vacation. Sipping a martini on a beach, sweetie, is much healthier than sitting around waiting for trouble.

minazione e resistenza irakena

My name is Clifton Hicks, I volunteered to fight in Iraq when I was seventeen years old, three of my best friends died there.

The first burned to death when his tank was hit by a rocket, the second was shot by a sniper, and the third was blown to pieces by an IED.

Four years later I stand before you in the name of Peace and Liberty, and I stand with you against the illegal, immoral, and unnecessary occupation of Iraq.

When I joined the Army, I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all enemies, be they foreign or domestic. To this day I still live by that oath.

In October of 2003, I was ordered to join the 1st Squadron of the 1st United States Cavalry Regiment, which had been in combat for five months just south of Baghdad.

US embargo of Cuba to stay in force after Castro quits

Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential hopeful, later issued a statement however saying that the US should consider easing the trade embargo if progress was made.

"If the Cuban leadership begins opening Cuba to meaningful democratic change, the United States must be prepared to begin taking steps to normalise relations and to ease the embargo of the last five decades," he said.

Hillary Clinton, his main rival, said the US was "ready to meet" Cuba if it made political progress, but mentioned nothing about lifting the embargo.

"I would say to the new leadership, the people of the United States are ready to meet you if you move forward towards the path of democracy, with real, substantial reforms," she said. "The United States must pursue an active policy that does everything possible to advance the cause of freedom, democracy and opportunity in Cuba."

Republican front-runner John McCain - who was criticised by Mr Castro himself this month in an article as being "the pawn of that mafia" of conservative Cuban-Americans - said Castro’s resignation was "nearly half a century overdue." He said: "Freedom for the Cuban people is not yet at hand, and the Castro brothers clearly intend to maintain their grip on power."

Speaking on a visit to Africa, President Bush – the 10th American leader that Mr Castro has seen since he took office in a 1959 revolution – made a strong call for democratic reform.

Harvard Won the Game...

For all the concern about student social space on campus, there seems to be no hope in sight for student living space. The Penthouse Café and fancy Pub aren't going to improve senior satisfaction surveys until the illogical interiors of the oldest houses are remodeled for the 21st century.

I'm still glad that I wore crimson instead of blue, but at the CHL's frustrating pace, Harvard will fall even further behind Yale in the student satisfaction game. With the draw of the Square dwindling (hello, Citibank), the party coffers dry, and General Education and advising in flux, what's a naïve prefrosh have to look forward to but cramped triples and sexile?

SyFriday: Living Life Out In The Open

Every once in a while, I like to pop over to the Battlestar Wiki site to see how Joe Beaudoin and crew are doing. Not only is the Battlestar Wiki a great resource on everything you ever wanted to know about "Battlestar Galactica," but I've known Joe online here for many, many years, dating back to our days working in the Galactica Newsletter Network.

One of the neat things to read over at Battlestar Wiki is Joe's blog. Normally, I don't talk about what other sites -- especially those that some might consider competition -- is doing, but this was something I found interesting. Earlier this week, Joe shared a very detailed story about how Wikia offered him $2,500 to sell his site to them. .

Mike Chappell: Colts Q&A Archives

If Vanderjagt has a couple of more outstanding seasons, he might change some minds.

Question: Why wasnt Larry Trippletts return for a touchdown counted as an interception? I never saw the ball touch the ground, therefore I thought it was an interception. Regardless, it was fun to watch the big man rumble and bumble all the way for a 60-yard score. (Josiah from Charlotte, N.C.)

Answer: Quarterback Steve McNairs arm was not coming forward in a passing motion when Dwight Freeney jarred the ball loose. Thats why it was ruled a fumble, not an interception.

Question: How likely is it that the Colts would let go of Vanderjagt at the end of the season and wouldnt it make some cap room for Edge or Reggie? (Joe from Salisbury, Md.)

Answer: Of course, not re-signing Vanderjagt would leave additional room under the salary cap.

Youth will dominate baseball team

Zack Wenzell, and Morgan Shapses could play in the outfield when not on the mound. Ryan Grennan could be in the infield or outfield. Brad DeVos could play first base, along with Custer.Sophomore Eric Barton could also see time at first when not pitching."Our pitching staff will develop," Magagnini said. "Let the other team hit the ball. Our guys will catch it."Just about everyone on the team will play more than one position."There will be decent competition for playing time," Magagnini said. "We have a lot of guys who can play a lot of positions."Junior Nick Moss is versatile, as he can play at either second, in the outfield or as catcher.Junior Spencer Waddell is among the leading returnees. A solid left-handed hitter and all-league selection last year, Waddell is expected to be the starting catcher.

China considers crashing BHP's takeover party

CHINA Investment Corp (CIP), the country's new sovereign wealth fund, is considering teaming up with major steel producers to counter offer about $US200 billion ($227 billion) for Rio Tinto, according to a weekly newspaper.

Rio (rio.ASX:Quote,News) has rejected an all-share offer from rival miner BHP Billiton (bhp.ASX:Quote,News) worth about $US124 billion ($141.06 billion), based on BHP's share price, one of the priciest-ever takeover attempts. Rio Chief Executive Tom Albanese has scheduled media conferences and investor briefings to outline Rio's defence against BHP later on Monday. "The plan now is for Chinese steel makers and CIC to jointly set up a team to join the bidding for Rio," the China Business newspaper reported, citing an unidentified source. CIC, established in September to manage $200 billion of China's $US1.43 trillion ($1.63 trillion) in foreign exchange reserves, would link up with steel makers including Baoshan Iron and Steel (Baosteel), the paper said.
