Hip-Hop Rumors: LaLa Plumps Up, Amerie Dropped? AHHmerican Gangster!

Somebody hit me with this as an explanation as to the title of Mariah's new CD, E=MC2.

“Just to clarify your Mariah E=MC2 comment it has nothing to do with Eminem. E stands for Emancipation(as in the title of her last album) MC is self explanatory and the 2 or squared simply means part 2. Emancipation of Mariah 2 but doesn't E=MC2 sound alot better."

Ddot the King hit me with that.

Charlamagne from Wendy Williams said this:

“Come on illseed! Mariah's album title is E for Emancipation the MC for Mariah Carey and the 2 represents the Sequel - Emancipation Part 2."

LMAO! I didn't really think that the E meant Eminem, but it's more interesting that way.

Aron Baynes scores 17 as No. 8 Washington State beats Oregon State

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - For an elite basketball team, No. 8 Washington State hasn't played many home games. The Cougars made the most of only their fifth home game of the season Thursday, pounding Oregon State 69-46 behind 17 points by Aron Baynes and 15 by Derrick Low."It's good to be home," said Baynes, who made 6 of 8 field goals.Washington State (15-1, 3-1 Pac-10), coming off its only loss of the season at UCLA, broke open the game at the start of the second half, outscoring the Beavers 20-4 in the first nine minutes.Oregon State (6-11, 0-5) lost its seventh straight game, another blow for embattled coach Jay John."I work independently of what others say and write," John said. "I have a job to do and I can't let negative comments interfere."Oregon State has had trouble scoring this season, and it didn't help that they were playing the nation's top defense, which is allowing just 52 points per game. The Beavers made just 7 of 21 field goals in the second half, and 41 percent for the game.

Scam bilked Calif. seniors out of $190M

La Habra, Calif. - William Miller dreamed of traveling to Italy with his wife and fixing up their modest house with the money he saved while working for 36 years for Chevron Corp.

Instead, he lost $450,000 - half his retirement nest egg - after investing with a company that authorities later said netted more than $190 million in a huge Ponzi scheme targeting seniors.

"I can't do what I wanted to," said Miller, now 88, widowed and fighting Parkinson's disease. "I realize that I just can't trust anyone anymore."

Three people at Daniel W. Heath & Associates, which had offices across Southern California, were convicted last month of charges including grand theft, selling false securities and theft from the elderly.

Wiley Hilburn: The devil was at the Ruston Drive-In

The first time I heard about the drive-in movie was, of all places, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ruston during the 1950s.

Emmanuel was located near my Marbury Drive home facing the Farmerville Road and I frequently attended services there. My first cousin, Helen Fielder, was an Emmanuel member. The church was founded during this period, growing out of a tent revival.

Retirement Savings a Key Concern for Americans, AICPA Survey of CPA ...

In responding to an open-ended question, nine out of 10 CPAs surveyed said their individual clients were concerned about retirement. Costs associated with health care and education were ranked by respondents as the second (59 percent) and third (47 percent) financial concerns of clients.

"Many Baby Boomers are discovering their retirement kitty is not as big as it needs to be to fund a comfortable retirement and that they are going to have to work longer than they had intended," said James Metzler, AICPA vice president.

The results of the poll were released today at the AICPA's 2008 Advanced Personal Financial Planning Technical Conference in Las Vegas.

Respondents included CPAs who hold the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential, which the AICPA offers exclusively to CPAs who are committed to financial planning as a practice discipline and have demonstrated expertise in a number of areas of financial planning.

Pissy + arrogant + hysterical + hypocritical = GOP Congresscritters

In another logical disconnect, Bush (who never bothered to ask for warrants from an already pliable FISA court), claims that demanding that companies (and the government) comply with existing law now will harm you and me.

All of Bush's illegal actions and lies are now beside the point. Either Nancy Pelosi is mentally incompetent and incapable of fulfilling her constitutional duties, or that domestic spying has gathered some great blackmail on her. Either way, impeachment is off the table. It is the rest of the Congress that is today's sore spot.

At some point tragedy becomes farce. The continuing destruction of our constitution is clearly on that path. Perhaps, we have gone way past that point.

No other image could capture just how inane and insane our Congresscritters have become than watching the GOP Munchkins march lockstep out of Congress, then hold an edited, scripted, and choreographed dog and pony show for the media.
